These Terms and Conditions govern the use of services provided by Professional Packers and Movers, operating from Shop No. 64, Madame Cama Road, Nariman Point, Mumbai – 400021 ("the Company"). By booking our services or using our website, you agree to these terms in full.
1. Booking and Confirmation
- A booking is confirmed only upon receiving written confirmation from our team via email, SMS, or in-person agreement.
- Submitting an online enquiry form does not constitute a confirmed booking. Our team will contact you to confirm dates, scope, and pricing before any booking is finalised.
- A written quotation is provided before the move commences. The quoted price applies to the scope of work described in the quote.
2. Pricing and Payment
- All prices quoted are based on the information provided at the time of survey or enquiry.
- If additional goods not declared during the survey are added on the day of the move, additional charges may apply. These will be communicated and agreed upon before execution.
- Payment terms are as agreed at the time of booking. Standard payment is expected on completion of the move unless otherwise arranged in writing.
- We accept cash, bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS/UPI), and other agreed payment methods.
3. Cancellation and Rescheduling
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled move date are accepted without penalty.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the move may incur a cancellation charge to cover planning and staff allocation costs. This charge will be communicated at the time of booking.
- Rescheduling requests are accommodated subject to availability. Please give as much notice as possible.
4. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- Ensuring accurate information is provided during survey and booking, including the complete inventory of goods to be moved.
- Disclosing all fragile, high-value, or special-care items before packing begins.
- Ensuring clear access to the property on moving day — parking for our vehicle, functional elevator (if applicable), and cleared pathways.
- Ensuring all items to be moved are packed and ready at the agreed time unless packing is included in the contracted service.
- Notifying our team of any items that should NOT be moved.
- Being present or having an authorized representative present at both pickup and delivery locations.
5. Items We Do Not Transport
For safety and legal reasons, we do not transport:
- Flammable, explosive, or hazardous materials
- Perishable food items
- Live animals or plants
- Illegal items or contraband
- Jewellery, cash, or bearer financial instruments
- Medicines requiring temperature-controlled transport
Any undisclosed prohibited items found at the time of packing or loading will be removed from the consignment. The Company accepts no liability for any such items.
6. Liability and Damage Claims
- The Company takes reasonable precautions to prevent damage during packing, loading, transport, and unloading.
- The Company's liability for loss or damage is limited to the reasonable repair or replacement value of the affected item(s), subject to the conditions of any insurance policy in place.
- Customers are strongly advised to opt for transit insurance for adequate coverage.
- Damage claims must be reported in writing to info@professionalpackerindia.in within 48 hours of delivery. Claims reported after this period may not be entertained.
- The Company is not liable for damage to items that were pre-existing, undisclosed as fragile, or self-packed by the customer.
- The Company is not liable for delays caused by traffic conditions, government restrictions, road closures, natural calamities, or other circumstances beyond our control.
7. Transit Insurance
- Transit insurance is optional and must be requested and agreed upon at the time of booking.
- The insurance premium is calculated as a percentage of the declared value of goods.
- Claims under transit insurance are subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policy provided by our insurance partner.
8. Vehicle Transport Terms
- For car and bike transport, the customer must provide valid copies of the vehicle's RC book and a photo ID.
- The vehicle must be in mechanically functional condition at the time of pickup unless otherwise disclosed.
- A condition report with photographs is prepared before loading. Any pre-existing damage is noted. Damage not in the condition report will be investigated but does not automatically constitute a Company liability.
- The fuel level must be at or below 1/4 tank at the time of pickup for safety purposes.
9. Storage Services
- Stored goods must not include prohibited items listed in Section 5 of these Terms.
- Storage fees are charged for the agreed period. Extension of storage is subject to space availability and continued payment.
- Uncollected goods beyond 30 days after the agreed storage period end date and without communication may be dealt with as per applicable law.
- Access to stored goods during the storage period requires 24 hours' prior notice.
10. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance of its obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government actions, strikes, road blockades, fuel shortages, or pandemic-related restrictions.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
12. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The updated terms will be published on our website. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
